FAQs
Here's a list of frequently asked questions. If you can't find what you're looking for, feel free to email me at goodliffetuition@gmail.com and I'll be happy to help you out!
No. I'll provide any work or homework needed for each session, but if you'd like resources that could help with learning outside of sessions, I'm happy to give you some recommendations.
Just send me an email at least 24 hours before your session time and we can reschedule or I'll issue you a full refund. Don't panic if I don't reply as soon as the email is sent; so long as the time on the email you've sent is 24 hours before the session time, you're all good!
You can always opt for online sessions via Zoom instead, but if you'd really prefer in person sessions, feel free to send me an email with your post code, because you might live in an area that I can reach on the weekends.
I believe primary level English and Maths is truly essential learning, so whether you're 11, 15 or 50, I'm happy to teach you!
You can book up to a month in advance, but if you would like your session at the same day and time every week, I can arrange that for you.
Nope, but if you'd like to set an agreed upon time for each week, I'll arrange that for you. If you'd like to skip a couple weeks, that's not a problem and won't affect the number of sessions left in your package. Your 10 pre-purchased sessions are valid for a whole year, so take your time!
During an introductory session, I'll spend some time getting to know the pupil whilst also performing a brief assessment to find their strengths and weaknesses to inform my planning for future sessions. If you're happy to continue with more sessions in the future, I can arrange them there and then for you, without you having to book online.
For group sessions, there will be a focus that allows all pupils to work on the same topic together. For those that struggle with certain topics more than others, learning content may be adapted to ensure that everyone in the group is receiving the appropriate level of challenge.
No, although it does make things easier. So long as the pupils are not more than a year group apart, sessions are much easier to facilitate e.g. one pupil in year 5 and the other in year 6.
If someone is unable to make a session, we can either: reschedule the session for another time, or, the price can be adjusted to reflect a smaller group size. This would be done by refunding everyone and issuing new payment links. If a bulk package has been purchased, rescheduling is required, since new payments to reflect a one time smaller group size cannot be issued for group bulk purchased packages.
That's not a problem. Just make sure to let me know at least 24 hours before the session time, so I can adjust and plan my time accordingly. You can contact me at goodliffetuition@gmail.com.
There is an initial assessment in the introductory session and further small assessments may be conducted throughout the course of study to further ascertain any weaknesses that need addressing. These assessments are performed at no extra cost.
Independent practice is one of the best ways to ensure continued development and committing knowledge to long term memory, so I will always provide homework for each session. However, you are paying for the sessions, so if you decide that the pupil's workload is high enough as it is, I'm happy for homework to be optional. It's up to you!
All sessions (other than introductory sessions) will last 1 hour, but if you'd like to book two lessons back-to-back, that can be arranged.
